What To Expect
If you have never experienced reflexology before, you may be a little nervous before coming to your first appointment. It’s best to wear loose comfortable clothing so that you feel relaxed.
Your first treatment will take longer to do than subsequent treatments. This is because I need to find out about you and why you’ve come and this helps me to tailor treatments to meet your needs.
I will explain a bit about how reflexology works and you will then need to take off your shoes, socks or tights so that I can look at your feet. You will lay back and I will give you a relaxing treatment to find out where the imbalanced reflexes are.
If you have ticklish feet, don’t worry. As soon as you feel that my pressure is firm you’ll relax and begin enjoy your treatment and drift off to sleep. The more you relax the less ticklish your feet will be.
After your treatment, I will be advise you to drink plenty of fresh water (ideally at least 8 glasses in 24 hours), to help flush out the impurities that reflexology releases from your body.
Subsequent treatments normally last an 1 hour and it is generally recommended that you have between 4-6 treatments to help any chronic or long standing problems. After all, a pill from the doctor doesn’t work after you’ve had them just once.
